TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team (0-1, 0-0 Summit) looked to make a dramatic ninth-inning comeback against Little Rock (1-0, 0-0 Sun Belt) on Sunday, but left the bases loaded as the game drew to a close.

The Trojans opened the scoring in the top of the first on an RBI single. James Notary quickly settled in, with that early mark being the lone blemish through five innings of work.

Tanner Rogen took over in the sixth inning, where he retired the Trojans in order. The Golden Eagles got on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the inning when Ryan Cash plated Caleb Denny on a sacrifice fly to left field.

Little Rock scored a run in seventh and eighth innings to take a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the eighth, Denny gave the Golden Eagles offense a spark with a solo home run to straight away center field, cutting Little Rock's lead to just a run.

In the top of the ninth, Little Rock pushed a run across on an RBI double. Down to their last at-bats, the Golden Eagles put together a rally but came up just short. Brody Gibson drove in a run when he drew a bases loaded walk with two outs. Unfortunately, ORU left the bases loaded when the final out was recorded.

Turning Point
Little Rock pushed their lead to two in the ninth inning with an RBI double from Eldridge Figueroa.
