TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Eagles will leave the nest and head east to Louisiana to take on No. 8 LSU in a weekend set. The series will mark the first road games of the season for the Golden Eagles, after opening the season with an eight game homestand. All three games of the series will be aired on SEC Network+ and can be streamed from anywhere.

About the Opponent

  • LSU has jumped out to an 8-1 start to begin the season, tallying wins over Air Force, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Youngstown State, Nicholls, and Southern.
  • The Tigers are ranked as high as No. 8 nationally in the Collegiate Baseball and USA Today polls.
  • Jaden Hill was named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Watch List. Hill was also named a First-Team Preseason All-American by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, Perfect, and D1 Baseball.
  • Devin Fontenot and Cade Beloso were named to the Preseason All-SEC Team, as voted by the conference's head coaches. Fontenot was named to the First Team as a right-handed pitcher, while Beloso, an outfielder, was named to the second team.
  • LSU has a storied history of national success, winning national championships in 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, and 2009. The Tigers have made 18 trips to Omaha to compete in the College World Series.

  • The Golden Eagles and Tigers have met three times previously, with LSU winning each matchup. The last meeting between the two schools came on February 25, 1989, when LSU won 7-10 in New Orleans.
  • Isaac Coffey was named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first week in the 2021 season. Coffey saw a streak of 23.1 consecutive scoreless innings, dating back to 2019, come to a close against South Alabama.

  • Sophomore Trey Wolf was named Summit League Preseason Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game, and was also named to the Summit League Pitchers to Watch list by the head coaches around the conference.
  • Head coach Ryan Folmar begins his ninth season as the Golden Eagles skipper. Folmar has a 250-167 career record at the helm of ORU
