FARGO, N.D. –  The Oral Roberts baseball team mounted a late comeback, scoring seven runs in the final three innings to take down North Dakota State, 8-6 on Friday afternoon.

Colten Weber picked up his first win of the season after throwing 3.1 innings of great baseball. Weber's 3.1 innings of action was the longest outing of his season and just two-thirds of an inning shy of his career long. Adam Scoggins picked up his fourth save of the season, recording the final two outs of the contest.

Caleb Denny picked up three of the five hits for Oral Roberts on the afternoon. Denny opened the scoring when he launched a home run into the parking lot beyond right field in the fourth inning.

North Dakota State got four runs, all unearned, in the bottom half of the fourth inning. In the fifth, the Bison added another run to take a 5-1 lead.

In the seventh inning, ORU began to chip away at the four run deficit. The first four Golden Eagle hitters of the inning reached via a walk, with Alec Jones picking up an RBI on a bases loaded free pass. Ryan Cash drove in the second run of the inning when he reached on a fielder's choice.

The Golden Eagles got two more runs in the eighth inning to tie the ballgame. Joshua Cox and Denny both singled to reach before Blake Hall drew a walk to load the bases. After Hall's walk, Isaac Coffey was hit by a pitch to bring in a run. Alec Jones was able to even the score when he lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Denny from third.

Jake McMurray got the Golden Eagles going in the ninth when he reached on a throwing error, advancing to second on the error as well. Adam Oviedo walked and gave way to Denny. Once again, Denny came up with a hit – This time, an infield single to second base which was followed by a throwing error to score McMurray. Hall gave the Golden Eagles a pair of insurance runs with a single to center field and that was all ORU needed.

North Dakota State scored an unearned run in the ninth inning before Scoggins ended the game with a strikeout.
