Jack Howes played his final round of collegiate golf Tuesday at the 2021 NCAA Stillwater Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club posting a 79 (+7) to finish in a tie for 43rd.
News and Notes
- The McKinney, Texas, product finished the 54-hole event carding a 227 as one of 28 players to record double-digit birdies with 10.
- After going 3-over on his first two holes, Howes settled in with a birdie on the difficult par-3 third, one of only two birdies on the hole Tuesday. He added another birdie on the other par-3 of the front side going out in 38 (+2).
- The senior tallied his third birdie of the day on No. 12, but could not overcome a tough stretch at the end of the tournament tallying a 41 (+5) on the back nine.
- Howes' round was delayed more than two hours as bad weather forced a halt to the action before his official tee time. The difficult conditions led to the course playing more than three shots over par in the finale for an average score of 75.4 of the 74 total rounds.
- SMU's Noah Goodwin claimed the top spot overall as he led wire-to-wire capped off with a 4-under 68 Tuesday totaling a 201 to win by six strokes.
