Max Abmas led with 20 points as the Oral Roberts men's basketball team defeated Rogers State, 81-70, Sunday afternoon at the Mabee Center.
Behind Abmas, three other Golden Eagles scored in double-figures.

Issac McBride scored 12 and Patrick Mwamba had 10 points to go along with his 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. It was the sixth time this year that four or more Golden Eagles scored in double-digits.
Rogers State came out hot in the first half shooting 43 percent from the field. After an early two point lead by ORU, the Hillcats jumped ahead and led by as much as four just five minutes into the game. Throughout the half, the teams tied the game eight times and had 11 lead changes. As the Golden Eagles were trailing by four with 4:06 left, McBride hit a three-pointer that was followed up by a technical free-throw by Abmas to tie the game. ORU had a two-point lead in the closing seconds, but RSU's Ugo Obineke hit a three to give the Hillcats a 37-36 lead at the half.
The offense came alive for ORU in the second half as the Golden Eagles shot 55.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range. With 18:34 to go, ORU took the lead and never looked back. Carlos Jurgens put the Golden Eagles up by 10 with 10:37 to play on a second chance layup after a
DeShang Weaver offensive board. Two minutes later, ORU went on an 8-0 run that was capped off by an Abmas bucket. A three-point connection by Thompson gave the Golden Eagles their largest lead of the game, 76-59, with 4:42 remaining. Down the stretch, ORU was able to hold off RSU to win, 81-70.
Oral Roberts had its best shooting night of the season going 50 percent from the field. For the second-straight game Abmas was ORU's leading scorer as the All-American has recorded double-digits in six of the seven games played in the 2022-23 campaign. The Golden Eagles move to 5-0 all-time against Rogers State.

Oral Roberts: Abmas scored 20 points on the night and Mwamba grabbed 10 rebounds.
Rogers State: Isaac Johnson recorded 12 points and Joey Saracco pulled down six boards.
