FARGO, N.D. – Despite a 23 point outing by
Issac McBride, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team dropped Thursday night's game, 77-59, at North Dakota State in Fargo, North Dakota.
McBride led the Golden Eagles with 23 followed by
Max Abmas with 21 on the night. The duo combined for 16-for-38 from the field.
ORU trailed by as much as 12 in the first half as NDSU shot well from the field shooting 46 percent. The Bison also connected eight three-pointers in the first 20 minutes. Despite the deficit, ORU charged back with a 10-3 run in the final three minutes to make it a 39-34 game at the half.
The Golden Eagles were able to cut the lead to three with 14:31 to play. The Bison then extended their lead to 10 coming out of the under eight minute timeout and never looked back. NDSU went on a 16-2 run to lead by 20 with two minutes to play. The Bison continued to shoot above 50 percent from the field in the second half and went away with the 77-59 win.
NDSU's Sam Griesel led the Bison with 22 points of his own followed by Rocky Kreuser with 13. The Bison led the game from the opening tip and maintained the lead for all 40 minutes.
Turning Point
North Dakota State went on a 16-2 run over the span of six minutes to extend its lead to 20.
Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: McBride ended the night with 23 points and
Francis Lacis had six rebounds.
North Dakota State: Griesel had 22 points and Kreuser grabbed 13 boards.
