Inside the Series
• Tuesday's matchup marks the first meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Golden Lions. Against teams from the state of Arkansas this season, ORU is 2-0.

Quick Hits     
• ORU is coming off a series sweep of South Dakota State in their 2022 Summit League opener over the weekend. The Golden Eagles received dominant starts from Isaac Coffey and Ledgend Smith, while Caleb Denny homered and drove in seven runs to help lead ORU to the sweep. 

• Smith, who tossed six scoreless innings and fanned a career-high 11 batters Saturday, was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Pitcher of the Week. The honor was his second of the 2022 campaign.

• Out of the bullpen, Cade Denton, Colten Weber, Reed Ronan and Kaleb McCullough all played key roles in the series sweep. Denton picked up the win in extra innings Friday night, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings and striking out seven. On Sunday, Weber, Ronan and McCullough combined to strike out 12 batters in the victory.

• In the Summit League, ORU's offense ranks first in runs (181), hits (239), doubles (46), triples (10), RBIs (173) and walks (129). On the mound, the Golden Eagles lead the conference in innings pitched (209.0) and strikeouts (228).

• Nationally, ORU enters the week ranked 12th in triples, 17th in fielding percentage (.980), 22nd in triples per game (0.42) and 24th in walks.

• Denny ranks 28th nationally and tops the Summit League with 30 RBIs. The Owasso, Oklahoma, native is also tied with Mac McCroskey for the league lead in hits with 33.

• ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to retain their regular-season crown in the 2022 Summit League Preseason Coaches' poll, garnering 36 points and all six of the possible first-place votes they could attain.

• Coffey earned plenty of preseason accolades as the junior was selected as the Summit League Preseason Pitcher of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Goleta, California, native also garnered Preseason All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball. Joshua Cox was selected as the Summit League Player of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. Brooks Fowler garnered Preseason Summit League Freshman of the Year honors from D1 Baseball.

Scouting the Opponent
• The Golden Lions enter Tuesday's contest after dropping two of three over the weekend to Texas Southern in SWAC action. In their last 10 contests, Arkansas-Pine Bluff is 4-6.

• Offensively, UAPB is led by Lawrence Noble (.365 batting average) and Dante Leach (15 RBIs).

• In the 2022 SWAC Preseason Coaches' poll, the Golden Lions were selected to finish fifth in the Western Division. Outfielder Kacy Higgins was named to the Preseason All-SWAC Second Team.
