Â
TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team suffered their first shutout of the season Friday evening as they fell 1-0 to Omaha in Summit League action at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
Â
A Drew Reetz solo home run in the second inning proved to be the difference in the contest as the Mavericks took the series opener.
Â
The Golden Eagles seemed to have life in the ninth as
Mac McCroskey led off the inning with what was ruled a double down the left-field line on the field. After a replay review, it was determined McCroskey was out at second base. ORU went down in order after the overturned call to end the contest.
Â
Despite allowing only one run over six strong innings,
Evan Kowalski picked up his first loss of the season. In relief,
Kaleb McCullough tossed three scoreless frames and struck out a career-high six batters.
Â
Offensively, the Golden Eagles had a runner reach second base three times on the night but weren't able to come through with the timely hit.
