GREELEY, Colo. – The Oral Roberts baseball team registered their seventh straight road win Saturday afternoon as they defeated Northern Colorado, 10-1, in Summit League action from Greeley, Colorado. With the victory, the Golden Eagles secured the series win against the Bears.

Ledgend Smith picked up his league-leading sixth victory of the season after allowing one run over five innings on the bump and striking out four. In relief,
Andrew Roach collected his first save as a Golden Eagle after throwing four scoreless frames and fanning five.

Joshua Cox,
Brody Gibson and
Jake McMurray each plated a pair of runs to lead ORU offensively.
Caleb Denny totaled a game-high three hits, while
Holden Breeze and
Isaac Coffey tallied two.

A sacrifice fly by Gibson opened the scoring in the second as the senior plated Coffey to make it 1-0, ORU.

After Northern Colorado tied it in the third,
AJ Archambo put the Golden Eagles back in front, 2-1, with an RBI single to left in the top half of the fourth. Three batters later, McMurray ripped a double to left-center to plate two more ORU runs.

In the fifth, Breeze crossed the plate on a throwing error by the third baseman, extending the advantage to 5-1.

An RBI double by
Jackson Loftin followed by an RBI single from Breeze in the sixth pushed the Golden Eagle lead to 7-1.

Joshua Cox roped a two-run double down the right-field line in the eighth to stretch the lead to 9-1. Gibson followed with an RBI double that plated Cox and made the final tally 10-1 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
