OMAHA, Neb. – The Oral Roberts baseball team opens their final road trip of the regular season with a three-game Summit League set against Omaha at Tal Anderson Field May 13-15. Friday's series opener is slated for 6 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. start Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch in Sunday's series finale.

Inside the Series
• The weekend set marks the second meeting this season between the Golden Eagles and Mavericks. Omaha took two of three in Tulsa, Oklahoma, back on April 1-3.Â
• Friday's series opener marks the 40th meeting all-time between ORU and Omaha. The Golden Eagles hold a 29-10 edge in the series and are 13-5 in Omaha, Nebraska.

• ORU concluded their 2022 home slate with an 8-7 victory over Central Arkansas Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the eighth to regain the lead and
Cade Denton slammed the door shut in the ninth as ORU finished the year with an 18-9 record at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Mac McCroskey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish, drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly. The four-hit game was the second of the season for the ORU second baseman.Â

Kaleb McCullough earned the win in relief, while Denton registered his fifth save of the season. After tossing a scoreless ninth, Denton has now thrown 22 consecutive innings without allowing a run.
• ORU enters the weekend with an 8-2 record in their last 10 contests. On the road, the Golden Eagles are riding a nine-game win streak and are 6-0 in league play.
• In the Summit League, ORU's offense ranks first in batting average (.301), runs (350), hits (483), doubles (97), triples (16), RBIs (311), slugging percentage (.445), walks (222), on-base percentage (.390) and sacrifice flies (27). On the mound, the Golden Eagles rank first in ERA (3.94), innings pitched (400.0), strikeouts (427) and batting average against (.243).

Jackson Loftin ranks inside the top 5 of seven different statistical categories.
• On the bump,
Ledgend Smith leads the league in ERA (1.90), opposing batting average (.219) and wins (6). The redshirt senior also sits 14th nationally in ERA. Junior
Isaac Coffey leads the league in walks allowed with 11. The Goleta, California, native also ranks sixth nationally with three complete games.
• The Golden Eagles will throw RHPÂ
Evan Kowalski on Friday followed by LHP Smith on Saturday and RHP Coffey on Sunday.
• ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to retain their regular-season crown in the 2022 Summit League Preseason Coaches' poll, garnering 36 points and all six of the possible first-place votes they could attain.
• Coffey earned plenty of preseason accolades as the junior was selected as the Summit League Preseason Pitcher of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Goleta, California, native also garnered Preseason All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball.Â
Joshua Cox was selected as the Summit League Player of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA.Â
Brooks Fowler garnered Preseason Summit League Freshman of the Year honors from D1 Baseball.
Scouting the Opponent
• Omaha enters the weekend with a 4-6 record in their last 10 contests. At home this season, the Mavericks are 13-11, including a 6-6 mark in conference play.
• Third baseman Mike Boeve leads the charge offensively for Omaha, sporting a .367 average to go along with seven homers and 30 RBIs. Boeve currently leads the conference in on-base percentage (.502) and doubles (21).
• On the mound, the Mavericks will throw LHP Caleb Riedel Friday, RHP Mark Timmins Saturday and RHP Charlie Bell Sunday. Riedel leads Omaha with a 1.20 ERA.
• Head Coach Evan Porter is in his sixth season at the helm of the Mavericks and owns a 112-152-1 career record. Against the Golden Eagles, Porter is 8-19.
• In the 2022 Summit League Preseason Coaches poll, the Mavericks were picked to finish third.Â
