OMAHA, Neb. – Behind the arm of
Isaac Coffey, the Oral Roberts baseball team registered their second straight shutout as they defeated Omaha, 9-0, Sunday afternoon at Tal Anderson Field to take the Summit League series.

Coffey tossed eight shutout frames and struck out six for his third consecutive quality start. Over his last three outings, the junior has allowed only one run in 22 innings of work.

Jake McMurray set the tone in the first inning with a leadoff homer to left. The solo blast was the junior's second of the 2022 campaign.

The Golden Eagles broke it open in the sixth with a five-run frame to take a 6-0 lead.
Holden Breeze jumpstarted the big inning with an RBI single to right, which plated
Caleb Denny.
Joshua Cox followed with a two-run triple to right-center to stretch the lead to 4-0.

An RBI single by
Connor Beichler and a sac fly from
Mac McCroskey accounted for the other two runs in the frame for ORU.

In the seventh, Breeze plated his second run of the day with an RBI double to center, pushing the lead to 7-0.

An error allowed the eighth run of the day to cross the plate for the Golden Eagles in the eighth.
Tanner Lindsly, in a pinch-hit opportunity, followed with an RBI double to right to make the final tally, 9-0, in favor of ORU.
