TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team closes out their 2022 regular-season home slate with a midweek contest against Central Arkansas Tuesday evening at J.L. Johnson Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.

Inside the Series
• Tuesday's contest marks the 16th meeting all-time and second this season between the Golden Eagles and Bears.

• ORU claimed the first meeting of the season, 7-5, on the road in Conway, Arkansas, back on March 15. Jakob Hall picked up the win, while Cade Denton registered the save. Offensively, Alec Jones led the charge with two RBIs in the victory.

• The Golden Eagles hold an 11-4 edge all-time in the series and are a perfect 8-0 at home.

• ORU enters Tuesday's midweek winners of seven of their last eight contests after taking two of three against St. Thomas over the weekend.

• Isaac Coffey tossed a complete-game shutout in Sunday's series-clinching win, marking his second of the season and fifth of his career. The junior has now thrown back-to-back complete games.

• Offensively, Caleb Denny paced the Golden Eagles on the week, launching three home runs and driving in eight RBIs. The redshirt sophomore registered a .533/.588/1.200 slash line and scored six times en route to earning his second TicketSmarter Summit League Player of the Week honor this season.

• Shortstop Jackson Loftin extended his on-base streak to 21 games over the weekend, while reliever Cade Denton extended his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 21.

• In the Summit League, ORU's offense ranks first in batting average (.298), runs (342), hits (467), doubles (93), triples (16), RBIs (303), slugging percentage (.440), walks (222), on-base percentage (.389) and sacrifice flies (24). On the mound, the Golden Eagles rank first in ERA (3.87), innings pitched (391.0), runs allowed (199), earned runs allowed (168), strikeouts (417) and batting average against (.241).

• Nationally, ORU enters the week ranked 12th in WHIP (1.26), 13th in walks allowed per nine innings (3.20), 16th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.00), 19th in fielding percentage (0.978), 20th in ERA (3.87), 25th in hits allowed per nine innings (8.10), 26th in triples (16), 28th in triples per game (0.36), 34th in WL Pct. (.667) and 41st in batting average (.298).

• Individually in the Summit League, AJ Archambo leads the conference in batting average (.392), slugging percentage (.647) and on-base+slugging percentage (1.147). Outfielder Caleb Denny sits atop the league leaderboard in runs (49), hits (63) and RBIs (48), while Jackson Loftin ranks inside the top 5 of eight different statistical categories.

• On the bump, Ledgend Smith leads the league in ERA (1.90), opposing batting average (.219) and wins (6). The redshirt senior also sits 14th nationally in ERA.

• Isaac Coffey leads the league in walks allowed with 11. The junior also ranks sixth nationally in complete games with three.

• Redshirt junior Foster Roy will make his first career start for the Golden Eagles Tuesday.

• ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to retain their regular-season crown in the 2022 Summit League Preseason Coaches' poll, garnering 36 points and all six of the possible first-place votes they could attain.

• Coffey earned plenty of preseason accolades as the junior was selected as the Summit League Preseason Pitcher of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Goleta, California, native also garnered Preseason All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball. Joshua Cox was selected as the Summit League Player of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. Brooks Fowler garnered Preseason Summit League Freshman of the Year honors from D1 Baseball.

Scouting the Opponent
• Central Arkansas enters the contest on a three-game win streak after sweeping North Alabama over the weekend.

• Hunter Hicks leads the way for the Bears as the junior holds a .340 average to go along with 11 homers and 53 RBI.

• RHP Oliver Laufman will take the bump for Central Arkansas.

• Long-time associate head coach Nick Harlan is in his first season at the helm of the Bears.

• In the ASUN Preseason Coaches' poll, the Bears were picked eighth. Sophomore right-hander, Tyler Cleveland, was named to the preseason All-ASUN Baseball team.
