TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma, Tuesday night for an in-state battle against No. 14/18 Oklahoma State. First pitch from O'Brate Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Inside the Series
• Tuesday's midweek marks the 76th meeting all-time between the two clubs.

• ORU leads the all-time series, 39-37, and has won 10 of the last 13 meetings.

• The Golden Eagles claimed last season's contest at O'Brate Stadium, 15-9, in 12 innings.

• The Cowboys are the first ranked opponent ORU has faced this season.

• ORU enters the midweek as one of the hottest teams in the country with wins in 13 of its last 15 contests.

• The Golden Eagles improved to a perfect 9-0 in Summit League play with a road sweep of Omaha over the weekend. With the sweep, ORU is now one of only three teams in the country still undefeated in conference play.

• Mac McCroskey and Matt Hogan led the way for ORU on the weekend as the two launched three homers apiece in the series. McCroskey also drove in seven runs on the weekend en route to earning TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors.

• On the mound, Brooks Fowler returned to the rotation and tossed six innings of two-run baseball to go along with a career-high seven strikeouts in Thursday's opener. Out of the bullpen, closer Cade Denton tossed 3.2 scoreless innings on the weekend and recorded two saves.

• Entering the week, the Golden Eagle offense leads the Summit League in batting average (.309), runs (250), hits (357), home runs (51), triples (10), RBI (227), on-base percentage (.395), slugging percentage (.516), stolen bases (57), total bases (596) and walks (143). On the mound, ORU tops the conference in ERA (4.44), batting average against (.250), WHIP (1.34), saves (12), innings pitched (290.0), hits allowed per nine innings (8.2), strikeouts-to-walk ratio (2.5) and strikeouts (303). Defensively, the Golden Eagles top the League in putouts (870), assists (318), double plays (29) and fielding percentage (.986).

• Nationally, ORU ranks second in fielding percentage, ninth in hits, 12th in double plays, 28th in stolen bases, 28th in batting average and 31st in triples.

• Hogan continues to lead the League in homers (13), RBI (46) and sacrifice flies (5). Nationally, the redshirt senior ranks 12th in sac flies and RBI and 13th in homers.

• Jonah Cox enters the midweek as the nation's hits leader with 60. The junior also sits fifth in hits per game (1.8), sixth in triples (5), 13th in batting average (.438) and 26th in total bases (90).

• On the mound, Joshua Caravalho leads the League in ERA (3.24) and wins (5).

• The Golden Eagles are coming off their 20th Summit League Tournament Championship and 29th NCAA Regional appearance after finishing with a 38-20 record in 2022. ORU returned 15 players from last year's NCAA Regional squad and welcomed 17 newcomers in the offseason.

• After an electric 2022 season out of the bullpen, Denton received Preseason First Team All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) and was tabbed the Preseason Summit League Pitcher of the Year by D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Rowlett, Texas, native was also named to the Preseason Watch List for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball. Through 15 appearances this season, Denton has recorded a 1.21 ERA and seven saves, which ranks fifth nationally.

• In the 2023 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to claim the regular season crown. The Golden Eagles received 42 points and earned all six first-place votes they could. McCroskey and Denton were named the Preseason Player and Pitcher to Watch for ORU as voted on by the league's seven head coaches. Senior Jake McMurray and Denton garnered Preseason All-Summit League honors from Perfect Game USA.

• Entering the 2023 season, ORU ranks sixth all-time in NCAA history with a .652 winning percentage. 

• Since 2001, ORU has made 17 NCAA Regional appearances, which rank as the most among Oklahoma schools.

• Head Coach Ryan Folmar enters his 11th season at the helm of the Golden Eagles and has compiled a 342-220 (.609) overall record.  

Scouting the Opponent
• Oklahoma State dropped its weekend series at TCU and enters the midweek with a 23-10 record.

• Sophomore Roc Riggio and freshman Nolan Schubart lead the way offensively for the Cowboys as the two have combined for 18 homers and 64 RBI this season.

• In the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Cowboys were picked to finish second.
