TUCSON, Ariz. – The Oral Roberts baseball team (40-11, 20-1) jumped four spots to No. 12 in this week's Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I poll, as announced by the publication on Monday. The ranking marks the first time the Golden Eagles have entered the Top 15 since 2004.
ORU, who has been ranked in the poll for five consecutive weeks, is currently riding a season-best 12-game win streak and is 30-3 in its last 33 contests. Over the weekend, the Golden Eagles secured their 22nd 40-win season in program history and first since 2017 with a sweep of Southern Indiana. The sweep marked ORU's eighth of the 2023 campaign and ninth straight series win.
In midweek action, the Golden Eagles picked up a 4-1 road victory over Wichita State to complete the season sweep of the Shockers. The season sweep marked ORU's first against Wichita State since 2009.
The Golden Eagles, who have already clinched their 20th Summit League regular season title, conclude their 2023 regular season May 18-20 at Western Illinois before traveling to Fargo, North Dakota, for the Summit League Baseball Championship May 24-27.
