DALLAS –Three members of the Oral Roberts baseball team were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America teams on Wednesday. This marks the first time since 1999 that a trio of Golden Eagles have earned All-America honors in a single season.

Junior right-hander Cade Denton earned his second All-America honor this year and third of his career after being named to the first team. The Summit League Pitcher of the Year is currently tied for the national lead in saves with 15, matching the program single-season record, and holds a 1.85 ERA in 58.1 innings of work. In 33 appearances, the junior has struck out 78 and logged 25 scoreless appearances.

In his career, Denton is only the fourth player in program history with 20-plus career saves (22).

Center fielder Jonah Cox collected his second All-America nod of the season after landing a spot on the second team. The junior leads the nation in hits with 110 and is riding a 47-game hit streak, which is tied for the third-longest streak in NCAA history. The junior has registered a hit in 62 of the 63 contests this season and leads ORU with a .420 average.

In addition to his impressive hit total, Cox has logged 11 homers, 16 doubles, eight triples, 28 stolen bases and 67 RBI.

Denton and Cox are the first Golden Eagles to earn multiple All-America honors in the same season since Mark Serrano in 2009.

In his first season with ORU, right fielder Matt Hogan earned a spot on the third team, which marks the first All-America honor of his career. With the selection, Hogan becomes the 47th All-American in program history. The senior leads the team with 18 homers, 70 RBI and 51 walks. The Melville, New York, native also holds a .332/.477/.678 slash line and has also swiped nine bases on the year.

The Golden Eagles will face TCU in the opening game of the College World Series on Friday at 1 p.m. from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. ORU is making its first appearance in the College World Series since 1978.
