TULSA, Okla. – The final All-America teams of the 2023 season were announced Thursday by D1 Baseball with junior right-hander Cade Denton and center fielder Jonah Cox being named to the second team.
Denton secured his sixth All-America nod of 2023 after registering a 1.83 ERA and nation-best 15 saves in a program-record 35 appearances. The 15 saves also tied the program's single-season record. In 64.0 innings of work, Denton, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year, logged a 2-1 record, struck out 86 batters and held opponents to a .211 batting average.
The Summit League Pitcher of the Year totaled 26 scoreless appearances in 2023 and capped off the year with six strikeouts in four shutout frames against TCU at the College World Series.
Cox logged his sixth All-America selection of the year after leading the nation and setting a program/Summit League record with 114 hits. The junior, who registered a hit in 64 of the 66 games this season led the Golden Eagles with a .412 average to go along with 11 homers, 16 doubles, eight triples, 68 RBI and 28 stolen bases. Cox also compiled a 47-game hit streak during the season, which ranked as the third longest in NCAA history.
