SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts senior
Presten Richardson was named the Summit League men's golf Newcomer of the Year, League officials announced Wednesday morning.
The honor is voted on by the League's nine head coaches.
Richardson, who transferred in from Western Carolina this past season, ranked fourth among Summit League golfers in stroke average at 71.8 during his first season as a Golden Eagle. The All-League First Team selection competed in all 11 tournaments, helping ORU to one team title and four other top-three finishes.
The Miller, Mo., native posted three top-10 individual finishes during the spring, including a runner-up placing at the Summit League Championship. He shot a season-best 208 (-8) to finish three strokes behind Falleur. He also tied for seventh at the Twins Oaks Intercollegiate, helping ORU to the team title and tied for fourth at the Stitch Intercollegiate. Richardson was named Summit League Golfer of the Week in February.
