FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Oral Roberts University Indoor Track and Field team delivered standout performances at the Arkansas Invitational, highlighted by their third-straight meet of the season with record-breaking achievements and top program marks.
Magake Climbs All-Time Mile Rankings
In the men's mile, Artwell Magake futrther cemented his place in ORU history with a stellar performance. Magake crossed the line in 4:09.13 to finish 11th out of 52 competitors. His time places him as the third-fastest Golden Eagle ever in the event, trailing only James Wanjiku (4:06.44, 2006) and Abraham Chelangam (4:08.75, 2024).
800m Duo Cracks Program Top 10
Alex Keter and Jaxson Brooks left their mark in the men's 800m. Keter clocked 1:53.66, securing the eighth-fastest time in ORU history, while Brooks followed closely with a 1:54.56, earning the 10th spot on the program's all-time list. Their performances underscore the team's growing depth and promise in middle-distance events.
Murambidzi Leads Women's Efforts
On the women's side, reigning Summit League Peak Track Athlete of the Week, Ossly Murambidzi, continued her breakout season in the 3000m. The freshman phenom shattered her personal best, clocking 10:09.65 to become the second-fastest Golden Eagle in the event and the fastest freshman in program history.
Murambidzi's historic run is the latest in a series of record-setting freshman performances for the Golden Eagles this season. Destiny Downing (high jump) and Jordan Wenger (high jump) have also etched their names into the record books, showcasing the bright future of ORU Track and Field.

The Golden Eagles will look to build on their momentum as they prepare for their next meet at the Washburn Invite on Jan 31 (Fri) - Feb 1 (Sat).
