TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles baseball team is gearing up for another exciting season, unveiling a 2026 slate filled with regional rivalries, non-conference challenges, and a competitive Summit League schedule. Following a 2025 campaign highlighted by standout performances, the Golden Eagles look to continue building on their legacy as one of the region's premier programs.
Non-Conference Home Slate
ORU opens its season at Chapman Park with a three-game series against
Southern Illinois (Feb. 13-15), followed by a midweek matchup with
Missouri State (Feb. 17). After three straight weeks on the road, the Golden Eagles return home to host
Arkansas State for a three-game series (Mar. 6-8).
This season's home midweeks also feature Power Four opponents
Oklahoma (Mar. 31),
Oklahoma State (Apr. 28), and
Cincinnati (May 5).
Non-Conference Road Matchups
Following the 2026 home opener, ORU heads to
Abilene Christian for a weekend series (Feb. 20-22), then travels to meet
Missouri State on the road (Feb. 24). The Golden Eagles will return to Texas to face
Dallas Baptist (Feb. 26 & 28), with a neutral-site contest against
Air Force in Dallas (Feb. 27).
ORU continues non-league road play with trips to
Arkansas (Mar. 3),
Central Arkansas (Mar. 10), and
Arkansas Little Rock (Mar. 17-18) before taking on
Air Force again in a neutral-site game in Enid, Oklahoma (Mar. 25).
The Golden Eagles will also face Power Four opponents
Oklahoma State (Apr. 7) and
Oklahoma (Apr. 21) on the road before closing out the non-conference slate with a neutral-site matchup against
OSU at ONEOK Field on May 12.
Summit League Spotlight
ORU begins its Summit League schedule at home, hosting
South Dakota State (Mar. 13-15) and
St. Thomas (Mar. 20-22). The Golden Eagles then hit the road to face reigning SL champion
North Dakota State (Mar. 27-29).
ORU returns home to host
Northern Colorado (Apr. 2-4) before traveling to
Omaha (Apr. 10-12) to close the first half of league play.
In the second round of conference action, ORU hosts
North Dakota State (Apr. 24-26) and
Omaha (May 8-10). They will travel to
South Dakota State (Apr. 17-19),
St. Thomas (May 1-3), and end the regular season on the road at
Northern Colorado (May 14-16).
The Summit League Championship, hosted by St. Thomas, is scheduled for May 20-23 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Key Matchups to Watch
- February 17 & 24 vs. / at Missouri State: ORU meets the Bears in their first two midweeks of the season. The Golden Eagles previously defeated Missouri State 8-7 (10 inn.) and 9-7 in 2025.
- March 6-8 vs. Arkansas State: ORU hosts the Red Wolves for their first-ever three-game series. The teams last met in the 2001 UT Arlington Invitational, where ORU claimed a 17-7 win.
- March 31 & April 21 vs. / at Oklahoma: The Golden Eagles face Oklahoma twice after recording a 5-3 upset over the No. 14 Sooners last season.
- April 7, April 28 & May 12 vs. / at / neutral vs. Oklahoma State: A three-game midweek slate against OSU highlights ORU's non-conference schedule. In a series dating back to 1972, ORU holds a narrow 43-39 all-time edge over the Cowboys after last season's 10-6 victory.
- May 5 vs. Cincinnati: ORU welcomes Cincinnati for the programs' second-ever meeting as the two first met in Chapman Park last season. The Bearcats finished 33-26 in 2025 and advanced to the Knoxville Regional.
