PITTSBURG, Kan. -
Artwell Magake's one mile title highlighted an impressive outing at the Gorilla Classic for the Oral Roberts track and field program.
The Golden Eagles soared in the mile run, earning multiple top-10 finishes.
Men's One Mile Finals
Artwell Magake toppled the 56-person field in the men's one mile, placing first at 4:07:45. Fellow Golden Eagles
Alex Keter (4:12.32) and
Andrew Smithwick (4:17.05) placed ninth and 16th, respectively, and each ran a PR.
Women's One Mile Finals
The Golden Eagles posted two top-ten finishes in the women's one mile with
Ossly Murambidzi and
Zoie Kiddy. Murambidzi finished fourth out of 55 participants with a 5:00:10 PR, and Kiddy was right behind her at sixth at 5:01:59 for a PR. Oral Roberts finished as just one of two schools with multiple runners finishing in the top 10, Missouri State being the lone competitor.

The Oral Roberts men's and women's track and field teams will head to the Summit League Indoor Conference Championships in Brookings, South Dakota hosted by South Dakota State on February 28th and March 1st.
