TULSA, OKLA. – The Oral Roberts baseball kicked off the weekend series with No. 19 Dallas Baptist with their second consecutive walk-off win winning 7-6.

Shortstop Martell Davis put together a three-hit performance including a two-run homer, one of four multi-hit games from the Golden Eagles.

Dallas Baptist took an early lead with a solo homer in the second inning as ORU found themselves playing from behind for the fourth straight game.  The Patriot lead grew to three with runs coming across in the fourth and fifth innings.

In the sixth is where the Golden Eagle bats came alive as they got on the board with Davis' two-run shot, his second of the season.  Later in the frame, Wailele Kane-Yates brought everyone home with ORU's first grand slam of 2025 making it a 6-3 ballgame.

The home run trend continued into the eighth as DBU left the ballpark twice in the frame accounting for three runs to tie the game at six.

Right-handed reliever Dalton Patten was called upon again in a late-game situation tossing 1.1 innings giving up two runs, one of them earned, and keeping the Patriots off the scoreboard in the ninth.

In the bottom half the Golden Eagles were able to load the bases again with Makani Tanaka at the plate.  Just as Kane-Yates did with the bags full of Golden Eagles, Tanaka came through with a walk-off walk scoring Ethan Fender to give ORU a 7-6 series-opening win on Friday afternoon.
