STILLWATER, OKLA. – The Oral Roberts Cross Country program competed against some of the best in the country on Friday morning, placing multiple runners in the top 50.

On the men's side, ORU finished eighth of 18 teams, beating out TCU and finishing just behind No. 10 Oregon, No. 29 Tulsa, No. 2 New Mexico, and No. 3 Oklahoma State.
Abraham Chelangam finished 17
th with a time of 24:13.0. Other top 50 finishers included
Andrew Smithwick in 33
rd, who ran a 24:40.3, and
Cornelius Kipkogei in 49
th with a time of 25:07.0.
In the women's 6K race, the Golden Eagles placed 13
th of 19 teams with
Ossly Murambidzi leading the way with a 56
th place finish and a time of 22:05.4.
Madeline Cabana placed 59
th, running a 22:07.9. Women's competition also featured No. 3 New Mexico, No. 13 Oklahoma State, and No. 1 BYU.
The Golden Eagles are back in competition next Saturday, October 4
th, at the Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the Arkansas Razorbacks. Two weeks later, ORU will head back to Stillwater for the Weis-Crockett Invitational on October 17
th.
