TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team prepares for a midweek matchup against #20 Cincinnati Tuesday evening at Chapman Park.

Last Time Out:
The Golden Eagles are coming off a series sweep over St. Thomas, defeating the Tommies 7-4, 18-14, and 4-2.
 
Wailele Kane-Yates led the way in the three-game series at UST, batting .462 with six hits, including a double and a home run. Makani Tanaka closely followed, going 6-for-15 at the plate with two triples and a home run. Will Edmunson led the team with eight RBI on the weekend, finishing 5-for-15 with a double, triple, and home run.
 
On the mound, the Golden Eagles were led by Sunday starter Jackson Farrell, who recorded four strikeouts. Farrell threw 5.0 hitless, scoreless innings to earn his third win of the season. Maddox Thornton earned saves on both Saturday and Sunday, throwing 3.0 innings over two appearances. Jack Hill improved to 5-0 on the season after entering in relief Friday, tossing 5.1 innings and allowing no runs on just two hits with three strikeouts.
 
Inside the Series:
Tuesday's matchup marks just the second meeting between ORU and the Bearcats, with Cincinnati earning a 10-2 win in Tulsa last season.

Tanaka Player of the Week x2:
Makani Tanaka collected his second Kwik Star Summit League Baseball weekly honor on April 28. The senior outfielder went 9-for-16 (.563) to help ORU split a four-game set with North Dakota State. Tanaka also racked up 10 RBI and now leads all Summit League hitters with 20 in conference play.
 
In ORU's 14-3 victory in game two of the series, the Honolulu, Hawaii native delivered the first multi-homer game of his career and drove in a career-high six. He had multiple RBI in three games vs. the Bison and capped the series with the first four-hit game of his season.
 
Career Leader:
Sophomore starter Easton Teel continues to make his mark nationally, as the right-hander's 3.00 career ERA ranks 19th in NCAA Division I, while his 2.00 walks per nine innings rank 26th.
 
Golden Eagle Defense:
ORU's defense ranks among the nation's best, as its .984 fielding percentage ranks sixth nationally. The Golden Eagles have also turned 31 double plays this season, the second-most in the league.
 
Scouting the Opponent:
Currently ranked No. 20 nationally by Baseball America, Cincinnati is 32-17 on the season with a 13-11 mark in Big 12 play.
 
The Bearcats recently swept a series at #23 Houston, defeating the Cougars 3-2, 8-1, and 4-3 (11 innings).
 
As a team, UC is batting .300 with 508 hits on the season, ranking 11th nationally. The Bearcats have recorded 88 doubles, 69 home runs, and rank 27th in the nation with 14 triples. Cincinnati leads the Big 12 in stolen bases with 101 on the season, averaging 2.06 per game.
 
Enzo Enfelise and Derrick Pitts lead the team with a .364 batting average, ranking among the top hitters in the conference.
 
Sophomore Quinton Coats ranks fifth in Division I and is currently tied for the Bearcats' single-season program record with 23 home runs. Coats also leads the team and ranks 14th nationally in RBI (61) and owns a .727 slugging percentage, which ranks sixth in the Big 12.
 
On the mound, UC has a 5.08 team ERA, allowing 8.81 hits per nine innings. Projected starter Dillon Schueler, a transfer from UIC, has appeared in and started 16 games this season, throwing 27.0 innings. The right-hander currently has a 5.00 ERA and a 0-2 record.
 
Cincinnati has recorded its third straight 30+ win season under head coach Jordan Bischel. Bischel has built a 411-224 career record over 12 seasons and is approaching his 100th win at the helm of the Bearcats with a 97-68 record in three seasons.
