SPOKANE, Wash. – Closing out the Gonzaga Volleyball Invitational, Oral Roberts faced Cal State Fullerton in its final match of the tournament. 

The Golden Eagles opened the match with 15 kills and 17 digs but fell short, 25-20, in the opening set. ORU responded in a tightly contested second set, battling to a 27-25 victory. After two sets, Ciara Cunningham led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills while hitting .435 and Khylie Remmenga got 4 block assists. Continuing the battle, ORU and Cal State Fullerton combined for 11 ties and seven lead changes in the third set. The Golden Eagles came out on top, 25-22. ORU carried its momentum into the final set, dominating 25-21 to secure the 3-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton. 

Cunningham and Cortnee Smith each recorded a double-double in the victory, helping the Golden Eagles close out the tournament on a high note.
