Last
Time Out
The Golden Eagles scored seven runs in the ninth to rally
from a 6-2 deficit in beating Missouri State this past Tuesday in
Springfield, Mo. ORU led 2-0 through three innings but Missouri
State scored six unanswered runs to take a 6-2 lead into the ninth
inning. The Golden Eagles loaded the bases with two outs and sent
pitch-hitter Stephen Pearson to the plate. Pearson
belted a fastball over the right field fence for a grand slam to
tie the game at 6-6. Brendan Duffy then walked and
later advanced to third after an unsuccessful pick-off and a
throwing error by the first basemen. Kelly
Minissale then singled up the middle to plate Duffy for
the go-ahead run. Jake Kahaulelio then hit his
fourth home run of the year past the left field wall to open a 9-6
lead. Erik Crichton worked the ninth to earn his
fifth save.
Mid-Con€™s
Dominance
This season starts the 10th season that ORU has been a
member of the Mid-Continent Conference. Ever since the first year
in 1996-97, the baseball team has dominated the conference going
241-30 (.889) in nine years. The Golden Eagles have won nine
conference championships and has been the lone member of the

other ORU squad has lost more than two games during conference
play.
