ST. GEORGE, Utah—Scott Stiles (Calgary, Alberta) fired an opening round 70 to help lead Oral Roberts University to a sixth-place tie after one round of the Pat Hicks Invitational, in the first tournament of the spring on Monday.

Stiles finished the round at 2-under par and enters Tuesday's final round tied for eighth. The Golden Eagles shot a 290 and sit 12 shots behind team leader Louisiana-Monroe.

Junior Austin Hannah (Katy, Texas) joined Stiles in shooting under par, carding a 1-under 71 to finish the day tied for 15th. Terance Begnel (Tulsa, Okla.) is tied for 31st with a one-over 73, while Brett Willis (Kettering, Ohio) and Paul Moxen (Clark Summit, Pa.) shot 76 and 77, respectively.

The final round begins at 8 a.m., Tuesday.
