The Jackrabbits (5-19, 1-4) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Tony Martin homered to left center to lead off the inning.

South Dakota State plated three more runs for the 4-0 lead in the third inning. John Lee smacked a single through the left side and advanced to second on an error. After a sacrifice bunt moved the runner to third, Billy Stitz legged out an infield hit to score Lee.

Joel Blake then hit a double to right field and Stitz was thrown out at home plate. After a walk, Martin doubled down the left field line to score two.

In the bottom of the third, Tyler Garewal (Bakersfield, Calif.) hit a one-out single up the middle and Martinez followed with a walk. An error by the third baseman then scored Garewal.

The Jackrabbits added two runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 6-1. Blake reached on a error and after two consecutive walks loaded the bases, a hit batter scored a run. Lee plated the second run of the inning off a single to right field.

Seth Furmanek (Gilbert, Ariz.) hit a one-out blast over the batter's eye in center field in the sixth inning to bring the score to 6-2. The homer was Furmanek's eighth of the season.

Michael Notaro (Westlake Village, Calif.) led off the inning with a double down the left field line. PJ Sequeira (Petaluma, Calif.) drew a walk and a hit batter loaded the bases.

Danny Duffy (Glendale, Ariz.) doubled down the left field line to clear the bases and Price and Garewal hit consecutive singles to plate Duffy.

After a scoreless top of the ninth, Notaro led off the bottom of the inning with a blast to left field to tie the contest. The long ball was Notaro's third of the year and 13th of his career.
