TULSA-Four pitchers combined on a four-hitter as Oral Roberts
finished off a Summit League series sweep of Centenary with a 3-1
victory, Sunday at J.L. Johnson Stadium. The victory gives ORU a
season-best six-game winning streak.

Rush held the Gents (3-17, 0-4) in check, keeping Centenary to
just one hit in the final three innings. ORU's offense collected 10
hits, but the Golden Eagles (15-11, 4-0) struggled again with
runners in scoring position, leaving 10 on base.
Spring and Centenary starter Nic Parrott (0-1) put up zeros over
the first three innings before ORU finally broke through with a run
in the fourth. Chris
Elder doubled with one and out moved to second on a long fly
out to right field by Brandon
King. Elder came around to score on a single by T.J.
Bennett as ORU grabbed a 1-0 lead.
Centenary tied the game in the top of the sixth on an RBI double by
Kyle Morton, but ORU came back with a run in the bottom of the
inning. Nick
Baligod led off with a double and came around to score on a
single by King as ORU regained the lead at 2-1.
ORU added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth. Bennett led
off with a double and scored on Brett
Sowers' single up the middle as the Golden Eagles went up
3-1.
Johnson, Liguori and Rush finished off the Gents. The trio combined
to allow one hit and one walk over the final three innings. Rush
retired the final two batters for his fifth save of the season.
Elder, Bennett and Sowers each collected two hits for ORU. Morton
had a pair of hits - both doubles - for Centenary.
The Golden Eagles return to action when they open a four-game
Summit League series at Western Illinois, 3 p.m., Friday in Macomb,
Ill.
