NORMAN, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped a 20-3 decision on the road at nationally-ranked Oklahoma Wednesday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Cal Hernandez and Noah Cummings drew consecutive walks. Spencer Henson, back in the lineup for the first time in more than a week, belted the first pitch he saw for a RBI single to left.

The No. 11-ranked Sooners answered back scoring five runs in the bottom half of the first and tallied multiple runs in five innings on the night to record the season sweep of ORU for the first time since 2013.

Turning Point

After ORU tagged the Sooners for a run in the first, the OU offense took command of the contest by posting a five-run bottom of the first. A walk to start the inning was followed by a sacrifice bunt and a hit batter. Back-to-back RBI singles gave the home side the advantage that was never given up.
