WACO, Texas – Despite Jordan Wiley hitting two home runs in to the Brazos River, the Oral Roberts baseball team fell in game two, 7-4, to Baylor in Waco, Texas.

Baylor came out swinging in the first frame as the Bears hit a two-run homer to right-center to take an early 2-0 lead. Ricky Martinez then hit a two-RBI double down the left-field line for the Bears in the bottom of the third to go up 4-0. Mack Mueller hit a two-RBI single to center and Baylor went up 6-0. Jordan Wiley hit his first homer of the season to put ORU on the board, 6-1, in the top of the fourth.

The Golden Eagle defense turned their first 4-6-3 double play of the series and third of the season to end the fourth inning. In the bottom of the sixth, Baylor scored an unearned run to take a 7-1 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Blake Hall and Jordan Wiley hit back-to-back solo home runs to cut the run deficit to four. Adam Oviedo made it a 7-4 game with a score on a Baylor wild pitch.

After coming in to relieve Tanner Rogen, Jacob Salim pitched four innings for 54 pitches and recorded three strikeouts and no walks. Salim allowed three hits and one unearned run.

Turning Point

After giving up four runs in the third, ORU scored one run in the fourth three runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to three with two innings to go.

Quote of the Day

"I was really just trying to see a bunch of fastballs because I know they were going to try and bust me away," Outfielder Jordan Wiley said. "But today, they missed a couple of spots so I ended up executing on a fastball middle and getting them over the fence."

Inside the Box Score

- Jordan Wiley went 2-for-4 on the day with two homers.

- Blake Hall hit one of ORU's three home runs in the game and wen 1-for-4 at the plate.

- Tanner Rogen pitched four innings and had 76 pitches along with six runs, all earned and one strikeout.

- As a team, the Golden Eagles hit .156 in the game. All Golden Eagle runs were earned.
