TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball program announced a full, 56-game schedule for the 2021 season that features a challenging non-conference slate, as well as eight, four-game Summit League series.
ORU will open the season on the road, traveling to San Antonio, Texas, to take on Incarnate Word starting Feb. 19 in a three-game series.
J.L. Johnson will play host to the next five games, including bouts with Missouri State (Feb. 23), South Alabama (Feb. 26-27), and Wichita State (Mar. 2).
The Golden Eagles will travel to Baton Rogue, Louisiana, to battle national power LSU in a three-game set at Alex Box Stadium Mar. 5-7.
Oklahoma State (Mar. 9) and Dallas Baptist (Mar. 12-14) will be the final guests to J.L. Johnson Stadium before Summit League play begins.
ORU also heads to Missouri for four games to take on Missouri State (Mar. 16) and Saint Louis (Mar. 19-21).
Throughout the 2021 campaign, the Summit League will change from their standard three-game series to a four-game series. Each series will feature a doubleheader on Friday and single games on Saturday and Sunday. Friday twin bills will be structured with a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest.
Summit League play will begin for the Golden Eagles with a four-game series at home against North Dakota State (Mar. 26-28), followed by a trip to Macomb, Illinois, to face Western Illinois (Apr. 1-3).
On Apr. 6, ORU will head to Norman to take on Oklahoma, before returning home for a non-conference series with Houston Baptist (Apr. 9-11).
Home will become familiar territory for ORU Baseball late in the season as it will remain in J.L. Johnson Stadium for three-consecutive weeks, hosting 12 Summit League games in that stretch. Omaha (Apr. 23-25), South Dakota State (Apr. 30-May 2), and Western Illinois (May 7-9) each visit Tulsa for a four-game set to wrap up the home slate.
Following the extended homestand, ORU will hit the road for consecutive weekends to conclude the regular season. The Golden Eagles will head to Omaha (May 14-16) and South Dakota State (May 20-22) for eight games before the 2021 Summit League Championships take place May 26-29 in Omaha, Nebraska.
