LUBBOCK, Texas – Behind Sasha Wells' school record and an event title from Emmanuel Kipngetich, the Oral Roberts track and field team closed out the Masked Rider Open at Texas Tech Saturday.

Wells broke her own mark in the 100 meter hurdles as her time of 13.30 seconds topped her previous best of 13.39 from the 2019 NCAA Preliminaries, while Kipngetich claimed the top spot in the 5,000 meter run.
News and Notes
-Kipngetich won the first outdoor event of his ORU outdoor career as the Kapsabet, Kenya, native raced past the competition in the 5,000 meter run with a winning time of 15:35.56.

- Gabrielle Gibson, the reigning Summit League Female Track Athlete of the Week, finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and seventh in the 200 meter dash, while joining Wells on the 4x100 relay team that placed fourth.

-Devin Simon turned in four finishes inside the top eight in the 100 and 200 meter dash along with the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
