OMAHA, Neb. - The Oral Roberts baseball team saw their nine-game road win streak come to an end Friday night as they dropped their series opener with Summit League foe Omaha, 7-2, at Tal Anderson Field
 
The Mavericks struck first with a solo home run off the bat of Mike Boeve in the opening frame.
 
In the third, Jackson Loftin put ORU in front, 2-1, with a two-run blast to right-field. The homer was the redshirt junior's eighth of the season and first in Summit League play.
 
The Mavericks answered in the bottom half of the frame with an RBI groundout to even the score, 2-2.

Omaha put up a four-spot in the fourth to extend their lead to 6-2. In the seventh, Noah Greise tallied the final run of the contest with a solo shot over the left-field wall as the Mavericks went on to win the series opener, 7-2.

Inside the Box Score
- AJ Archambo and Loftin each tallied two hits apiece in the loss.
- Archambo pushed his hitting streak to six games.
- Loftin totaled his 13th multi-RBI game of the season.
- Jake McMurray extended his hit streak to six games.
- Evan Kowalski picked up the loss after allowing five runs in 3.1 innings.
- In relief, Andrew Roach gave up two runs in 4.2 innings.

- Friday's series opener marked the 40th meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Mavericks.
