#ORUBase Heads to Arkansas for two Against the Razorbacks

Tulsa, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team jumps back into non-conference competition traveling to Fayetteville to take on No. 3 Arkansas for a pair of mid-week contests.
 
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a series loss to begin conference play dropping two of three to North Dakota State, being swept in Saturday's doubleheader and winnings Sunday's series finale.
 
ORU almost pulled off what would have been their largest comeback of the season in game on Saturday cutting a 9-0 deficit to 9-8 in the ninth. They have come back from down five runs twice, both against Missouri State, and have four multi-run comeback wins in 2025.
 
The Razorbacks opened SEC play this past weekend at No. 13 Ole Miss. They took two of three games, dropping the opener 10-4 on Friday and winning on Saturday and Sunday by finals of 12-3 and 12-9.
 
This is just the third road trip for ORU this season and the second of three that is located within 200 miles of Tulsa.  The Golden Eagles are 2-2 on the road winning one of three at Arizona State in February and taking a mid-week game over Missouri State on March 11th.

Inside the Series:
Oral Roberts trails the all-time series 23-8 vs the Razorbacks with their last matchup coming on March 12th, 2024 as Arkansas won 4-2.  The Golden Eagles haven't won in the series since April 15, 2008, and have lost 11 straight to the SEC power.  The last five matchups have all come at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Scouting the Opponent:
Arkansas is the highest-ranked team ORU currently has on the schedule as they sit at No. 3 in the country and have won 18 of their first 20 games.  Dave Van Horn, one of the most decorated college baseball coaches in history, leads the way in his 23rd season in Fayetteville.  Over that span, he has led the Razorbacks to nine College World Series, nine Super Regionals, and 20 NCAA Tournaments.
 
Arkansas is led in average by Kuhio Aloy, who hits .424 with eight homers, second on the team, and 33 RBIs. Right behind him is his brother Wehiwa Aloy, who bats .380 and leads the squad in homers with nine, to go along with 24 RBIs. They're natives of Wailuku, Hawai'i. Wehiwa transferred from Fresno State, and Kuhio from BYU. 
 
Colin Fisher got the ball to start Arkansas' last mid-week contest going 3.0 innings giving up just one hit, no runs, and striking out three in a bullpen-heavy day against Central Arkansas.  The staff is headlined by LHP Landon Beidelschides boasting a 3-0 record and a 3.80 ERA in 21.1 innings.  Zach Root is another big arm in the weekend rotation leading the team in strikeouts with 37 in just 24.1 innings of work.   
 
Arkansas is a flawless 14-0 at Baum-Walker stadium this season, having won over Washington State, No. 22 TCU, Michigan, and No. 13 Ole Miss. They have the 10th-best team ERA in the country, rank seventh in homers with 36, and rank 17th in total runs with 156 (13 per game).
