Scouting the Opponent:
The Omaha Mavericks come to Tulsa with a 5-13, 0-3 record in 2025, coming off a home sweep of St. Thomas. However, Omaha does have some quality wins under its belt, including a 5-4 win at No. 3 LSU on Feb. 22 and a 3-1 win over Kansas State on March 12.Â
Â
This Maverick squad does not hit many homers but they are paced in that category by Jackson Trouth with two on the year with a team-leading 15 RBIs. His .328 batting average ranks second on the team. Leading the team in average is Henry Zipay at .354 who also leads the team in hits with 23. Tyler Bishop also ranks top-5 in the Summit League in conference batting average at .500. As a unit, Omaha has hit 11 homers, tied for 230th in the nation, and has driven in 84 runs.
Â
On the bump, Ben Weber leads the way with a 0-3 record and a 4.94 ERA in 23.2 innings. Five of six appearances have been starts, most recently being a 6.0 inning outing vs St. Thomas allowing just two runs. Cameron Teinert ranks second in ERA at 7.78. Omaha has a team ERA of 7.75, ranked 227th in the country allowing 143 runs, 130 earned.Â
Â
The Mavericks, like the Bison, are battle-tested. Omaha has played the 26th-hardest schedule in the country, with opponents such as Tulane, No. 3 LSU, Kansas, and Kansas State. They will also see the Creighton Bluejays three times and the Nebraska Cornhuskers once out of the Big East and Big Ten.Â
