TULSA, OKLA. - The Oral Roberts baseball team had to climb out of a deep hole against BYU Tuesday night but eventually fell by a final of 12-10.

Jack Schark reached five times, homered for the fifth time this season, and drove in three runs in the loss.

The Cougars got going early scoring once in the second and putting up a six-spot in the third to take a commanding seven-run lead out of the gate at Chapman Park.

The Golden Eagles were quick to respond, however, scoring five times in the bottom half with a two-run single from Ethan Fender, a Keaton Campbell RBI single, and a walk from Schark that drove in a run.

ORU would get runs back in the fourth and fifth with a Cooper Combs RBI double and Schark's fifth homer of the year in the home half of the fifth.

To fit the trend of the evening, BYU would storm back with four more runs in the top of the sixth inning with a solo homer, an RBI single, and a run that came in on a walk.  Two more would come in for ORU in the bottom half with two outs with Makani Tanaka's RBI double and Schark adding to his RBI total with a single.

Both teams went scoreless in the seventh and eighth before the Cougars got a massive run of insurance in the top of the ninth stretching the lead to two.  In the home half of the ninth, the Golden Eagles loaded the bases with two outs but stranded them there on a strikeout as they fell 12-10.
