U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO.  - The Oral Roberts baseball team started fast but was shut down by the Air Force bullpen as they dropped the mid-week contest 9-3.

Keaton Ruthardt pitched 3.0 innings gave up two unearned runs, no walks, and struck out four in relief.

The Golden Eagles got the scoring going in the top of the first inning for the second straight game as Will Edmunson led off with a double and was driven in two batters later on a Cooper Combs RBI ground out to take a one-run lead.

Air Force struck back with two in the bottom of the second taking their first lead of the game on a couple of bunts, one single and one sacrifice.

ORU would go on to score once in the third and fourth innings with an RBI single from Combs and Makani Tanaka's third homer of the season to regain the lead.

However, the Falcons would score five runs in the bottom of the fourth and never look back after they loaded the bases, and a three-run double cleared them.

From then on, the Air Force bullpen really took over, using only two arms all game to secure the win, as ORU fell 9-3 to wrap up the Colorado portion of the nine-game road trip.
