TULSA, OKLA. - The Oral Roberts baseball team returns to Chapman Park for the first time since April 6
th as they take on Summit League-leading St. Thomas for the second time this season.

The Golden Eagles are coming off one of their best wins of the season, defeating No. 14 Oklahoma on the road to cap off a 6-3 road trip. ORU is now eight games above .500, tied for the most this season, and is 8-3 since last seeing the Tommies in the Twin Cities.

As for St. Thomas, they are coming off a mid-week loss to Iowa on Wednesday by a final of 15-5 in eight innings and have lost three of their last five games. In their last conference series, the Tommies took two of three from South Dakota State at home, outscoring them 19-10 across the three-game stretch. UST is 6-5 since seeing ORU last on March 28
th.

The last time these two teams met, however, St. Thomas swept the doubleheader over ORU, winning by finals of 3-2 and 8-2 behind two stellar starts from right-handers Retz Walker and Marcus Kruzan.Â

Inside the Series:
Oral Roberts leads the all-time series 9-8 over St. Thomas since they came into he league in 2022. However, the Tommies have won the last four meetings against ORU, most recently sweeping a doubleheader in St. Paul on March 28th. The Golden Eagles are 3-7 in their last 10 against UST but are 5-4 in Tulsa against their foe from the Twin Cities.Â

Scouting the Opponent:
St. Thomas heads into Tulsa for the weekend series, leading the Summit League with a 13-4 conference record. However, they have lost three of their last five, most recently dropping their mid-week game to Iowa on Wednesday, 15-5 in eight innings.

At the dish, it has been Max Moris leading the way for the Tommies, batting .346 in all 34 games, blasting two homers and driving in 37, ranking second on the team. However, the Graduate student only won a combined one-for-eight against ORU in March. Joe Vos leads the team in homers with six of them to go along with his .341 average and 26 RBIs. On the base paths, it's Tanner Recchio providing a massive threat, stealing 23 bags on 26 attempts. As a team, UST bats .300, which is atop the Summit while hitting 28 homers and driving in 239 runs. In addition, they are 50-64 stealing bases this season.

The team's ERA leader is right-hander Retz Walker, boasting a 4-1 record with a 4.38 ERA in nine starts. In his lone start vs. ORU, he tossed 6.0 innings, gave up five hits, two runs, one walk, and struck out four in an 8-2 win. Righty Marcus Kruzan has also given opponents trouble all year, going 6-0 with a 5.60 ERA. He tied his longest start of the season against ORU back in March, throwing 6.0 innings, five of them scoreless, and gave up five hits, two runs, and struck out a season high seven. As a team, the Tommies have posted a 6.79 ERA in 283.2 innings, have given up 30 homers, and have allowed 214 earned runs.

Fielding has been the struggling point for UST with a .964 fielding percentage in 2025, committing 42 errors and turning 20 double plays. However, they've been better because in five of their last seven, the Tommies have not committed an error.
