BROOKINGS, SD. - The Oral Roberts baseball team dominated offensively to sweep South Dakota State and clinch a share of the Summit League regular season title on Saturday afternoon.

It is ORU's 21
st Summit League regular season title and they are the one seed heading into the Summit League Tournament in Omaha starting Wednesday at Noon.Â

The Golden Eagles were active with the bats early, compiling five hits across the first three innings but having no runs to show for it. They got on the board in the fourth inning as
Martell Davis drove in a run with a single and
Will Edmunson knocked another in with a sacrifice fly.

Oral Roberts would come back with two more in the fifth with
Ethan Fender's sacrifice fly and
Keaton Campbell with an RBI single moments later.Â

Freshman right-hander Brendan Asher put together another quality start, tossing 6.0 innings, giving up five hits, two runs, one earned, two walks, and striking out four in his ninth start this season.

The Jackrabbits would get on the board in the bottom half with two of their own, with an RBI single and a sacrifice fly, but that would be all they would get.

In the sixth
Jack Schark hit a sacrifice fly scoring another run making it a 5-2 ballgame, he reached four times on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles put the game out of reach in the eighth with four runs, started by a solo homer from Edmunson, a two-run single from
Makani Tanaka, and then a
Matthew Brandt RBI double down the right field line.

Dalton Patten came out of the pen in the ninth to close the door, and that he did, securing a 9-2 win for the Golden Eagles and grabbing their 21
st Summit League regular season title.  Â
