TULSA, OKLA. - The Oral Roberts baseball team gears up for their final home series of 2025 as they face off against Northern Colorado for the second time this season.Â

The Golden Eagles come off a mid-week loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats by a final of 10-2, just their ninth loss at home this season. Last weekend, however, ORU took two of three from NDSU, winning both games in extra innings on Friday and Sunday to even the regular season series with the Bison. Oral Roberts remains in the hunt for the ine seed in the Summit League, trailing St. Thomas by two and a half games.

Northern Colorado is coming off a series loss to South Dakota State in Brookings, dropping two of three to the Jackrabbits, who are battling for the fourth and final spot in the Summit League Tournament. The Bears are in sixth place in the Summit and are seeking a conference tournament berth, but they head into the weekend trailing Omaha by three games.Â

Inside the Series:
Oral Roberts has dominated the short all-time series, with the Bears leading it 15-1-1. The Bears suffered their lone loss on April 13th in the series finale in Greeley, Colorado. ORU is 7-0 at home against Northern Colorado and scores an average of 11.2 runs per contest. Their largest margin of victory came in their first meeting ever on April 29th, 2022, when they won 26-6.Â

Scouting the Opponent:
Northern Colorado heads to Chapman Park for their second matchup with Oral Roberts in the regular season bringing in a 17-28 record, going 8-16 in the Summit League thus far, sitting in sixth place. The Bears come off a series loss last weekend against South Dakota State and have dropped four of their last six games.Â

At the plate, it's been Jake King leading the way with a .341 average this season with 33 runs driven in, which is second on the team. Multiple-time Summit League Player of the Week has a slugging percentage of .429 and an OBP of .436 in 45 games. Kai Wagner is another Bear having great success in the box, hitting eight homers and driving in 50 runs, both first on the team. His RBI total ranks second amongst players in the Summit, trailing only Luke Luskey of South Dakota State. As a unit, the Bears hit .277, ranking 156
th in the country, hitting just 20 homers, which is last in the Summit and 284
th in the NCAA.

On the bump, Murphy Gienger leads the way with a 5.86 ERA and a 1-3 record in 66.0 innings, starting 11 games. Against ORU, he tossed 7.0 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs, three walks, and striking out four in a 9-5 loss. Jake Storey leads the team in starts with 12 and has a 2-4 record with an 8.44 ERA in 2025. The UNC bullpen has been its weak point, with six arms posting an 8.00 ERA or higher with at least 10.0 innings of work. Their team ERA of 7.92 is last in the Summit and is 258
th in the NCAA.

In the field, Northern Colorado has struggled throughout the season, posting a fielding percentage of .956, ranking last in the Summit and 268
th nationally. They've committed 75 errors, averaging out to 1.6 per game, and have turned 30 double plays. However, in two of three games against SDSU, the Bears were clean in the error column, making it eight games without one in 2025.
