PITTSBURG, KS. – Golden Eagle track & field capped off a successful indoor regular season with a plethora of personal records at Pittsburg State last weekend.
In total, 13 ORU athletes set new personal bests, the most of any meet during the indoor season. Three athletes set new records in the 200M,
Kenneth Ikutiminu ran a 22.09 on the men's side,
Kallista Frye with a 25.49, and
Danica Mulholland running a 25.63 on the women's side.
In the men's mile, the Golden Eagles were well represented as
Sibonokuhle Thwala and
Artwell Magake placed 4
th and 5
th in a 57-runner field. They posted times of 4:08.29 and 4:08.41, respectively. Thwala's time was a new personal record.
Jackson Cook also set a new personal record in the men's mile as well, with a time of 4:24.47.
Tre Bias had a career weekend in the men's 60M race, posting a 7.10 time, a new personal best. In the men's 400M,
Solomon Granderson ran a 48.49, placing 12
th out of 45 and setting a new PR, and in the women's 400M it was
Jessica Okorie placing 7
th in a 44-runner field and PR'ing at 56.30.
Madeline Cabana was one of two Golden Eagles to have a career day in the women's 3000M race, placing 3
rd of 55, setting a new personal best of 9:53.84.
Morgan Lawrence also posted a new record of 11:10.13.
Two new personal bests in the triple and high jump capped off a successful weekend for the Golden Eagles.
Evan Allerkamp jumped 45'5", earning him a top-10 finish, and Woedem Vasmark won the men's high jump open with a 2.08M jump.
Oral Roberts will be back in competition on Friday, February 27
th, at the Summit League Indoor Conference Championships hosted by North Dakota in Grand Forks.
