#ORUTF Impresses in Multiple Meets at Oklahoma and Arkansas

NORMAN, OKLA./FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The Golden Eagles continued their outdoor competition season with Friday's John Jacobs Invitational at Oklahoma University, and the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday in Fayetteville.
 
The John Jacobs Invitational College 2026 saw strong performances from Oral Roberts University athletes as the Golden Eagles recorded multiple podium finishes and a pair of top-three team placements Friday in Norman, Oklahoma.
 
The Oral Roberts women's team finished third overall with 50 points, while the men placed seventh with 36 points in a competitive field that included Division I and junior college programs.
 
Leading the men's distance squad, Artwell Magake finished runner-up in the 5,000 meters, scoring eight points for the Golden Eagles. Teammate Andrew Smithwick added a third-place finish, while Brian Cheruiyot placed fifth to give ORU three scoring positions in the event.
 
On the track, Elijah Burk turned in a strong double, placing third in both the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles to contribute valuable points for the Golden Eagles.
The women's team accumulated points across multiple events to secure the third-place finish, continuing a consistent outdoor season for the Golden Eagles against regional competition.
 
Overall, the Golden Eagles produced several scoring performances and demonstrated depth across distance and hurdle events, positioning the Golden Eagles for continued success as the outdoor season progresses.
Oral Roberts track & field posted several solid performances on the track at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, highlighted by multiple personal bests and competitive finishes across sprint and middle-distance events.
 
On the women's side, Jessica Okorie led the Golden Eagles in the 400 meters, finishing 10th overall with a personal-best time of 55.79. Olivia Granderson also turned in a strong performance in the same event, clocking 57.43. In the distance events, Zoie Kiddy recorded a time of 4:49.64 in the 1500-meter invitational, while Deborah Mazzei posted a 2:14.16 effort in the 800 meters.
 
The men's sprint group saw several strong showings, led by Kenneth Ikutiminu, who finished 20th in the 100 meters with a 10.82 mark before adding a 22.52 performance in the 200 meters. Trey Bias followed closely in the 100 meters with a season-best 10.96, while Mikhi Davis ran 22.18 in the 200 meters and later posted a personal-best 51.14 in the 400 meters.
 
Solomon Granderson paced the ORU quarter-milers with a 48.89 finish in the 400 meters. In the middle-distance events, Kelvin Chiku turned in a 1:54.06 performance in the 800 meters.
Elijah Burk competed in both hurdle events, recording times of 15.17 in the 110-meter hurdles and 58.38 in the 400-meter hurdles to round out the Golden Eagles' running performances.
