Tanaka Collects Second Kwik Star Summit League Weekly Honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts outfielder Makani Tanaka collects his second Kwik Star Summit League Baseball weekly honors, League officials announced Tuesday. Alongside him is North Dakota State lefthander Jonah Walker. Tanaka is the fourth Golden Eagle to claim the peak performer honor this season, while Meyer earned his second pitching honor of the season.
 
Tanaka went 9-for-16 (.563) to help Oral Roberts split a four-game set with North Dakota State. The Honolulu, Hawaii native also racked up 10 RBI and now leads all Summit League hitters with 20 in conference play.
 
In ORU's 14-3 victory in game two of the series, Tanaka delivered the first multi-homer game of his career and drove in a career-high six. He had multiple RBI in three games vs. the Bison and capped the series with the first four-hit game of his season.
 
Walker helped the Bison take two of four from the league-leading Golden Eagles, earning his straight start in conference play in an 11-3 triumph for the Bison in game three.
 
The Lincoln, Neb., native scattered five hits over five innings of work, allowing just one earned run.
