FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – Artwell Magake stole the show on Friday night, setting a new school record in the men's 1500M race at the Arkansas Twilight meet on Friday night.
He ran a 3:43.91, setting the third outdoor track and field record this outdoor season alone, joining
Abraham Chelangam in the men's 5000M and
Jordan Wenger in the men's high jump earlier this season.
Multiple personal bests were set across the evening, too, starting in the women's 1500M race with
Zoie Kiddy's PR of 4:36.34 and
Madeline Cabana with a 4:40.74.
Lillian Woolery and Baylee Rae Woodrich also set personal bests in the race with times of 4:48.36 and 4:53.79, respectively.
A plethora of Golden Eagles set personal bests in the men's and women's 800M race, too, with Ishmael Acheapong posting a 1:49.87,
Sibonokuhle Thwala running a 1:50.21, and Jaxon Brooks finishing at 1:51.17. On the women's side, it was
Hannah Vanderburg running a 2:13.04.
ORU will now head off to the Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by North Dakota State in Fargo, North Dakota, on Thursday, May 14
th.
