AUSTIN,
Texas �€" Texas rallied from a 3-0 deficit to down Oral
Roberts University, 5-3, in the second game of a three-game series
on Saturday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Brendan Duffy (Glendale, Ariz.) led off the game
with a single and then scored off a Brian Van Kirk
(Southwest Ranches, Fla.) single to left field to give Oral Roberts
(4-7) an early 1-0 lead.
The
Golden Eagles added to their lead in the fourth after
Stephen Pearson (Petaluma, Calif.) reached base
after an error by UT�€™s first baseman.
Pat Warfle (Melbourne, Fla.) plated Pearson with a
single to center field for a 2-0 Golden Eagle advantage.
Kelly Minissale (Murphy, Texas) singled in
Jake Kahaulelio (Windsor, Calif.) to up the ORU
advantage to 3-0.
Texas
started to chip away with two runs in the bottom of the fifth off
of ORU�€™s starter Marcus
Tackett (Tulsa, Okla.). The Longhorns took the lead for
good with another two run inning in the sixth.
UT
added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with an unearned
run for a 5-3 lead.
Warfle
had a productive day from the plate going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
ORU and
Texas return to action tomorrow in the series finale at UFCU
Disch-Falk Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
