TULSA, OKLA—The Oral Roberts baseball team slugged 15 hits on their way to a dominant series-opening win over Omaha 10-1.

Right-hander Easton Teel made his first start of 2025, going 7.0 innings. He allowed just four hits, one run, and one walk and struck out a career-high eight batters.

For the fifteenth time this season, the opposition opened the scoring against ORU. The Mavericks struck first in the top of the first with an RBI single, but that was all they would get.

The Golden Eagle bats came alive in the third getting on the board with Owen Coil's first collegiate home run off of the video board in right field to tie the game up.

ORU would tack on two more runs in the fourth as Wailele Kane-Yates drove one up the middle and then an error committed by the Maverick's center fielder allowed Cooper Combs to score from second and Kane-Yates to advance to third.  Moments later Jack Schark doubled down the left field line driving in the Golden Eagle's catcher to make it 3-1.

Oral Roberts wasn't done in the fifth scoring four runs in the frame highlighted by triples from Coil and Makani Tanaka and Martell Davis' two-run homer, his team-leading fifth of the season.

Three more runs would come across the sixth and eighth innings via the first balk ORU has seen this season and a pair of RBI singles from Combs and Kane-Yates.  Left-hander Weston Rouse pitched two scoreless innings, his second outing out of the bullpen, to close out the series opener.
