OMAHA, NEB. - The Oral Roberts baseball team begins its journey to the fourth straight Summit League Tournament title against the No. 4 seed South Dakota State on Wednesday at noon.

The Golden Eagles come into the Summit League Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska, playing some of their best conference baseball all season.  ORU comes in on a season-high eight-game eight game conference winning streak, including a series win at North Dakota State and sweeps at home against Northern Colorado and on the road against South Dakota State.  That win streak propelled them to the top of the Summit League, earning a share of the 2025 regular season title.

Over the last 10 contests at the plate, Oral Roberts is batting .309, blasting 20 homers and driving in 84 RBIs.  Four Golden Eagles have 10 or more RBIs in that span, including Summit League first-team recipients Wailele Kane-Yates (15), Will Edmunson (13), Jack Schark (11), and first baseman Ethan Fender (10).

Pitching Matchup:
RHP Easton Teel (6-2, 3.03) vs. TBD

Inside the Series:
Oral Roberts leads the all-time series with the Jackrabbits 73-21 across the series that began in 2008.  ORU is 8-2 in the last 10 matchups, winning eight straight.  The Golden Eagles swept the regular-season series versus SDSU, the only team they went undefeated against in the Summit.  All-time, the Golden Eagles averaged 8.1 runs per game against the Jacks and scored at least nine times in five of the six matchups in 2025.

Scouting the Opponent:
South Dakota State brings a 16-34, 12-18 record into the Summit League Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. The Jackrabbits hold the four seed in the conference tournament after getting swept in four games by ORU last weekend, going 0-6 against the Golden Eagles in 2025.

At the plate, it has been shortstop Carter Sintek filling in as the leader for the injured Luke Luskey, who is done for the season with a knee injury.  Sintek bats .352, hitting three homers and driving in 29 runs.  ORU got a sizable dose of Dayton Franke last weekend as he blasted three homers in a game to bring his season total to eight, which is second on the team, doing that in just 64 at-bats this season.  Designated hitter Bryce Ronken is another bat to look for, hitting four homers and 35 RBIs with a .320 average.  SDSU bats .271 as a team, ranking fifth in the Summit, 201st nationally.

On the bump in a starting capacity, it has been Caleb Duerr getting the most opportunities with 11 starts in 12 appearances this season, most recently last Friday, where he threw 4.2 innings, giving up nine hits, seven runs, five earned, three walks, and struck out seven against ORU. He is 4-4 on the season with a 6.28 ERA in 53.0 innings.  RHP Dylan Richey has been an arm that has gotten more starting time down the stretch, with seven of them, the last one on Saturday against ORU.  He is usually a shorter starter, going 3.1 innings, allowing eight hits, two runs, no walks, and striking out one against the Golden Eagles.  He is 1-2 with a 3.24 ERA in just 25.0 innings.  The team ERA is at 7.35, fifth in the Summit, 235th in the NCAA.

SDSU has struggled in the field lately, committing 16 errors over four games last weekend, equating to 15 unearned runs allowed. They are last in the conference in fielding percentage (.958) and have committed the second most errors (74), only behind Northern Colorado. They rank 262nd in the NCAA in the field.
