OMAHA, Neb. - Oral Roberts earned a pair of individual honors as righthander
Easton Teel was named the Newcomer of the Year and
Ryan Folmar garnered Coach of the Year honors for the seventh time in his career, league sources announced Tuesday morning.
The Golden Eagles also landed nine individuals on the All-League teams with
Will Edmunson,
Wailele Kane-Yates,
Jack Schark, and
Easton Teel earning First Team recognition and
Cooper Combs,
Nathan Love,
Martell Davis,
Dalton Patten, and
Owen Coil earning Honorable Mention honors.
Folmar led ORU to a share of the regular season title after the Golden Eagles won nine of their last 10 Summit games. He now stands two wins shy of becoming the winningest coach in Summit League history. Former Valparaiso head coach Paul Twenge currently leads the way with 378 victories.
Teel went 6-2 and led all Summit pitchers with a 2.98 ERA against conference competition. The freshman posted seven quality starts in Summit play and struck out 43 in a league-high 63.1 innings.
Teel was one of a league-high four Golden Eagles to be named to the All-Summit League first team. He was joined on that squad by second baseman
Jack Schark, outfielder
Will Edmunson and catcher
Wailele Kane-Yates. Those three Golden Eagle newcomers combined for 20 home runs in Summit play with Kane-Yates pacing all league batters with nine long balls against conference foes. Edmunson added six, while Schark had five.
