OMAHA, NEB. - The Oral Roberts baseball team used another big offensive performance to defeat South Dakota State 11-2 in the first round of the Summit League Tournament.

Easton Teel went a career high 8.0 innings giving up eight hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck out three in his seventh win of the season.  It was his ninth quality start in 10 tries this season.

The Jackrabbits down quietly in the first two innings against Teel and company as the game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the second inning.  There, the Golden Eagle bats came alive scoring seven times, blowing the game open.

Owen Coil opened the scoring with a two-run double, his 6th RBI in his last five games.  Moments later, Cooper Combs knocked in a run on a sacrifice fly.  Then, Wailele Kane-Yates stayed red hot, blasting his fifth homer in the last week, driving in three more runs with it to make it a 7-0 ballgame.

In the fifth, ORU added three more with a Martell Davis RBI single and scored two more times thanks to a Jackrabbit error that would've ended the inning.  In the seventh, the Golden Eagles added one more as Keaton Campbell scored on a wild pitch to make it 11-0.

In the eighth SDSU loaded the bases with no outs and drove in two runs on back to back sacrifice flies to get on the board but that would be all they would get.

In the ninth, Cooper Moore shut the door, working around a one-out base runner and striking out a batter as ORU cruised to a round one victory by a final of 11-2.
