TULSA, OKLA. - The Oral Roberts baseball team used back-to-back homers in the fifth inning to lock up a series win over Northern Colorado, 4-1.

Jack Schark's solo homer in the fifth inning was his team-leading eighth homer of the season, serving as the second of back-to-back big flies.

Friday night's series opener started with a lot of base traffic on both sides as Northern Colorado loaded them up in the first inning but came up empty.  The Bears did more of the same in the second inning and cashed in with one run.

In the bottom half, ORU tied things up with a Martell Davis RBI double, his 31st run driven in this season, before the Golden Eagles would leave them loaded later in the frame.

After that, both starters caught their rhythm, and right-hander Easton Teel would go on to retire 10 straight and strike out six Bears in another quality start for the freshman.

ORU would grab the lead for good in the home half of the fifth as they went back-to-back for the third time this season.  Wailele Kane-Yates blasted his seventh of the year, driving in two, and Jack Schark with a solo shot moments later, making it a 4-1 lead.

The Golden Eagles turned to Dalton Patten out of the bullpen, coming off of 7.2 scoreless innings in his last two outings, and he did not disappoint.  The senior from Red Oak, Oklahoma, tossed three scoreless innings, going 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth to close the door, grabbing his sixth save.

The Golden Eagles' 4-1 victory over Northern Colorado brings Head Coach Ryan Folmar to 427 wins in his career, bringing him within two wins of the program record.
